The Center of Medical and Surgical Gastroenterology at MGM hospital specializes in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the digestive tract and liver. Our Gastroenterologists specialize in caring for people who have diseases of the stomach, intestines and other digestive organs. Endoscopy, a procedure that uses a flexible fiberoptic tube to examine the inside of the body cavity, is used to detect many upper and lower gastrointestinal (GI) problems. Those with acute heartburn, indigestion and unexplained abdominal pain can be treated by these specialists. In addition, irritable bowel syndrome, ulcers, ulcerative colitis, esophageal tumors, liver disease, pancreatic disorders and other complex problems of the GI system are treated.
The Center of Surgical Gastroenterology is involved in managing major gastrointestinal surgical problems, which predominantly involve gastrointestinal cancers; Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic diseases, colorectal surgery and Minimal Access surgery and Diagnostic & Therapeutic Endoscopies are done.
Through infrastructure organized around interest groups oriented toward disease processes, organ systems, procedures or patient groups, clinical expertise is integrated with the newest forms of established and experimental diagnostic and therapeutic methods. Outpatients and patients in the hospital are cared for by teams of physicians and allied health personnel with broad expertise in all forms of gastroenterological and hepatobiliary diseases.

The Endoscopy center has dedicated Endoscopist, some of them leaders in their field. It has the latest high-resolution video Endoscopy unit and offers the entire gamut of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic upper GI, lower GI and pancreatico-biliary interventions. There is a separate endoscopy suite staffed by specially trained endoscopy nurses so as to create a comfortable environment for the patients and towards making endoscopy as stress-free an experience as possible.
